This photography trip to New Zealand’s South Island was excellent from start to finish. The planning was top-notch, seamlessly guiding us to beautiful locations while providing great accommodations and food throughout the journey. We couldn’t have asked for better conditions. We had the best weather—even at Milford Sound, where we got just the right amount of rain to witness hundreds of waterfalls cascading down the cliffs. Highlights of the trip included: * A lucky encounter with wild Kea parrots at Mt Cook. * Aerial flights over the mountain ranges. * Awesome boat cruises exploring Fiordland.

What really set this tour apart were the leaders. They were adaptable, ensuring we were always at the right spots for the given weather and lighting. Beyond helping us get the best shot in the field, they took the time to host dedicated post-processing sessions and image critiques, providing valuable feedback that genuinely improved my photography skills. Truly an iconic and epic New Zealand trip!

The entire journey was filled with challenges, adventure, excitement, invaluable learning experiences, and plenty of opportunities for hands-on photography practice.

I truly enjoyed every moment of touring New Zealand with the group, and the camaraderie we shared was wonderful. I am profoundly grateful for your kindness, generosity, and expert guidance. Daniel is helpful, knowledgeable, easy going, and a great guide and planner. He shared his deep knowledge of photography locations freely and pointed out great spots we had missed. I would definitely sign up for another trip with Daniel in New Zealand. He also did a great job in keeping all of us on schedule so that we could take advantage of this beautiful trip.

Superb leadership! Daniel’s knowledge of NZ is so valuable. All of the places he has been many times and so not only shares information but also tips; both practical travelling tips and also photography ones. With his understanding of what we can do and the weather, he made changes to the flight times and we will be eternally grateful for getting those good weather shots on the flight. He was also firm (necessary to reign in people and unusual/not doable requests) but warm.

Had the best experience with @purephotoadventures.nz on their Winter Wonderland 2021 Tour. I learned more about landscape photography in these 5 days than I have in the last 10 years. The immersive in-the-field learning experience allowed me to really practice my learnings with continuous support. The team went above and beyond to adapt to the changing conditions ensuring we got the most out of each day. I have been on other photography workshops and there’s no comparison. Looking forward to future tours with them!
